Mr. McFeron has worked as a structural designer and project manager for Peterson Structural Engineers for the last six years. Prior to joining Peterson Structural Engineers he received a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Portland State University, and is registered as Civil Engineer in the States of California, Oregon, and Massachusetts.
While at Portland State University he served as a graduate assistant for the Seismic Testing & Applied Research Laboratory (STAR Lab), at which time he performed research specializing in areas of seismic testing and applied research. After graduation from Portland State University Mr. McFeron has maintained close ties with the Civil Engineering department and faculty. In recent years he has served as an adjunct faculty member at Portland State University and has instructed undergraduate and graduate courses in the following subjects: Analysis of Framed Structures, Statics – Vector Mechanics for Engineers, Steel Design, Finite Element Analysis, and most recently Advanced Steel Design.
At Peterson Structural Engineers he has increased his breadth and depth of knowledge and experience, principally within the areas of structural engineering design, structural analysis, and project management. He has overseen projects involving new construction as well as those involving alterations and/or upgrades to existing structures. He has experience managing a wide array of structural projects, including municipal water storage/treatment facilities, residential construction, commercial construction, and other diverse projects. |

Recently Mr. McFeron has worked on the seismic evaluation and the subsequent design of upgrades for several elevated steel water tanks to upgrade them to meet current requirements for the local seismic conditions. He has worked closely with other engineers in the design several water treatment facilities and various other types of municipal structures. In addition he has performed the structural design of various commercial and residential structures and acted as a consultant for various other structural issues for both Owners and Contractors.
Mr. McFeron has also been involved in the analysis and design of temporary structures for construction and procedures for the safe demolition of existing structures. He has extensive experience designing with wood, concrete, steel, masonry as well as additional experience with other diverse materials such as aluminum, titanium, chrome-moly steel, and glass. |
