One of the premiere areas of experience in Peterson Structural Engineers is with water containment reservoirs. Members of our firm have been designing and evaluating reservoirs of many types since 1967.
Reservoir types include ground supported steel, elevated steel and steel standpipe, cylindrical and rectangular standard reinforced concrete (including base isolated versions), wood stave, concrete dome, hydropillars and in particular AWWA D110 prestressed concrete reservoirs. Overall, PSE staff has been involved in over 75 reservoir projects in our firm history. |

|
The Powell Valley Water District requested the design of a large, multi-room pump station and steel reservoir to support an existing well field. PSE’s involvement in this project for the Water District was as the structural engineering design consultant in the design of a new 160,000 Gallon steel water reservoir. |
Services for this project included generation of design criteria, design of the reservoir foundation and review of proprietary design documents. Construction was completed in 2002. |

Carsten Reservoir #2
Reservoir Design, 300,000 Gallon
1998
Client: City of Banks, Oregon

PSE acted as the structural engineering design consultant in this design of a reconstructed 300,000 Gallon steel water reservoir in Banks, Oregon.
This unique project involved participation in the deconstruction of an existing steel water reservoir and use of the shell courses in the design of a new tank. PSE used the existing shell as a design base for this structure, also designing a new roof and floor system along with new appurtenances.
Services performed included the generation of complete structural design and construction documents and services during construction.
