In the first phase, a structural evaluation of this existing 5.0 Million Gallon prestressed concrete water reservoir for gravity and lateral loads was performed. A report was generated, which included the results of the structural analysis as well as reporting of the existing condition of the reservoir based on field investigations. The report also included preliminary construction cost estimates and repair recommendations for existing construction defects and roof ponding conditions.
The second phase of this project consisted of design and generation of construction documents for various repairs, including the installation of new concrete columns to support areas of roof ponding. This design detailed a process of pouring new columns through temporary roof penetrations.
